ARSENAL SET TO DOUBLE ALVARO MORATA’S WAGES

Arsenal FC are set to double the weekly wages of Spaniard Alvaro Morata if he agrees to join the Emirates this forthcoming season, according to reports making the rounds.


The extra effort is seen as part of desperate efforts by the London club to nab the player after missing out on other possible additions.

Real Madrid activated their buy-back clause to get Morata from Juventus in order to now sell to the highest bidder. Chelsea FC, Arsenal’s rival, are among the favourites to land the player this summer from the Bernabeu forcing Arsenal to offer the player extra incentive so he joins this summer. The 23-year old player scored 12 goals in the last season for Juventus after making 47 appearances for the Turin-based club. AS reports that the striker is not keen on staying at Madrid except he would get serious game time which might not be very realistic, so he is keen on going where he would get enough time like he enjoyed back in the Serie A.

Arsenal are now offering £144,000 weekly to land the player this summer. Chelsea coach Antonio Conte is also keen on the player, who displayed what he was capable off when both teams met at the Euro 2016 in France. Italy were the victors as they defeated their counterparts 2-0 but Morata enjoyed a decent performance at the tournament.

Arsenal are in serious need of a prolific and consistent striker after the performance of their first choice forward Olivier Giroud left much to be desired in the last campaign. With more pressure on Arsene Wenger to win the English Premier League he last lifted in 2004, the club is out for a good goals’ poacher to do the job well in the coming season. The club is obviously willing to go extra length for Morata.

LEWANDOWSKI’S COMMENTS PUT ARSENAL ON RED ALERT

Polish centre forward, Robert Lewandowski has made certain revealing comments in light of several interests in acquiring the services of the current Bayern Munich player.

His revelation puts Arsenal on red alert as he admitted that he would like to play in England. A host of top clubs are keen on the in-demand striking talent.


The Sun say that The Gunners are keen on the Bayern Munich forward and see the possibility of an audacious summer move to help Arsenal in their EPL jinx break next season. English rival, Manchester City, are interested in the Polish hitman and incoming boss Pep Guardiola is a big fan. Pep currently manages the player in Germany but will join The Sky Blues this summer as he leaves Bayern.

“Maybe I’ll play in England or Spain one day,” Lewandowski said sending clubs on red alert.

If coach Arsene Wenger has his way, Lewandowski could be lining up against his current boss when he arrives at The Etihad next season.

“But, if I committed to pursuing my career in Munich, it’s because I considered it the ideal club at which to move up a level and to win more trophies,” he added.

Arsenal are extremely clear about their objectives in the remainder of the season and this will hold them in good stead going into the final six matches of the season, according to Arsene Wenger.

Even though the club are 11 points behind Leicester City, they have a game in hand. The deficit could potentially reduce to eight point if Arsenal win this match. More importantly, Arsene Wenger believes that his team will be able to give their full attention to the league title since they are not involved in other competitions. Even in the past, the club has been knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup competitions much earlier.

This is the case in the 2015-16 campaign as well. After going out of the Champions League yet again at the hands of Barcelona, the club were at least hoping to win the FA Cup and be involved in the Premier league title race. This hope, however, was thrown out of the bag by Watford, who claimed an unlikely victory in the FA Cup at the Emirates stadium. Arsenal have gained revenge for this defeat by beating Watford 4-0 during the weekend, but it does not help the club’s objective of winning trophies. Arsene Wenger: ‘’Arsene Wenger is hungry for titles’’

The Premier League has reached it’s 2nd half point of it’s campaign and so far, Arsenal has been dominating it as they are at the top of the English League after managing to collect 42 points from the initial 20 league games of the season.

The real test that lies ahead for Arsene Wenger and his team is to maintain their momentum and not drop any points, if they are able to do that then Arsenal will become the new champions of England and claim the English Premier League title which they haven’t accomplished since 2004 when Arsenal was going through their unbeaten season.

So, it has been over 10 years since Arsene Wenger has won the Premier League and the Frenchman recently stated that not only him but his squad is hungry to win it back as well as lift more pieces of silverware.

Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger said: “We are hungry our hunger and desire is very strong. We have survived despite the fact that we have been hit by very bad injuries and have made some fantastic results. For 2016 the target is now to be the best team. One thing that is very positive is that if we are the best team from January to May, we will be very happy. The head chief of Arsenal, Ivan Gazidis believes that it will be difficult to improve the team

Arsenal just finished going through a season which was actually considered to be an impressive one for Arsene Wenger and his team as they managed to win the FA Cup for a 2nd consecutive year and finished at the 3rd spot of the Premier League.

Even though Arsene Wenger still has not managed to win the Premier League title in over 8 years, Arsenal still concluded the past season strong and the players as well as the supporters of the club were proud of what was accomplished during that period of time.

The summer transfer window is approaching and managers are preparing their respective squads by searching around the transfer market and signing new players but according to one of the executives of Arsenal, Ivan Gazidis believes that improving the team even further will be difficult as the Premier League club already has a strong team.

Arsenal’s Ivan Gazidis spoke about the current position of the club in relation to signing new players and he said: “We’ve built quietly and without a lot of fanfare a good and deep squad. Now this summer is quite a delicate one for us, because it’s easy to improve when you’ve got obvious weaknesses, but I feel we’ve got a very good and strong squad across all positions. We’ve got a very healthy age profile, it’s a young squad and we’re in great contract positions as well, lots of long contracts, not too many people we have many issues with contract wise. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger still believes that his team can come up with a surprising result

Despite having been beaten 3-1 in the first leg against Monaco, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger still believes that his team can come up with a surprising result in the second leg. There have been very few teams who have managed to progress to the next round after losing the first leg 3-1.

Further, Arsenal have the disadvantage of playing away from home. Monaco have been one of the stingiest teams in the French league after allowing only 20 goals from the 28 matches this season. Since the first leg at the Emirates stadium, both teams have undergone different set of fortunes in terms of form.

Arsenal went on to win four straight matches including the 3-0 win over West Ham last weekend. Monaco followed that result with five dropped points in the league, but they have recovered of late with back-to-back victories against Evian and Bastia. The gunners have already been knocked out at this stage of the competition four times in a row. The worrying aspect for Wenger is that in all previous occasions, the opposition were significantly better than Monaco. Manchester City and Arsenal are the two left British teams in the Champions League after Chelsea suffered an exit.
