Manchester City has only lost 3 matches in the Premier League so far and one of those few opponents that they have suffered a defeat against was with Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s men managed to claim a 2-0 victory after playing in the home soil of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
This result was a surprising one as Manchester City was expected to win with Sergio Aguero returning from an injury as well as David Silva; both players are the main creative and attacking source but even they failed on making any kind of significant impact on a match that Arsenal somehow managed to maintain in their control and claim the crucial victory.
When the match was over and Arsenal secured all 3 points, Arsene Wenger took the chance to unveil some details concerning the method they used to win the match as the Frenchman said that scoring the first goal in any match is hugely important and his squad was very well organized throughout the entire match.
“We played high up in their half and very deep in our half and it worked. Sometimes, it’s the fact that you have to find solutions. It’s down to everybody doing their job. The first goal dictates the way of the game in these big games and today we scored first’’
“I felt that we were well-disciplined, well-organized, had a good solidarity and overall we kept a good control of the game. We could even have done better on counter attacks.” Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger said.
This result puts Arsenal only one point behind Manchester United who are currently located in the 4th spot. Southampton is still enjoying a superb campaign as they are sitting in the 3rd spot with 42 points collected so far.
